jb310.jpg (77959 bytes)FIRE HOSE COMPANY. 5" x 6 3/4 gelatin photo on 7" x 9" mount. Good graphic image of a  Hose Co., apparently fitted in bunting for a parade. No photographers imprint. I was told by the previous owner that this is in Colorado, however have no info to verify that info. Moderate wear and soiling around edges, left top mount corner has crease, 2" scar in image on left edge. (Jb.310); $65.

Imprinted on bottom of mount "Kennebec 3, of Bath, Maine, entertaining NIagra 3, of Dedham, Mass., at Cpt Cyprus McKnown's Residence, Boothbay, Maine.  Photographed by J.C. Higgins, Bath, Me., Sept 12th, 1877".  Aside from being a little light along top edge of house, image exhibits fine contrast, clarity and tonality. ((Jb.361); $475.

Wilson , NY Illustrated Billhead, 4 3/4" x 8 1/2" (scan is enlarged to show detail), "Firemen's Equipment of All Kinds", illustated w/ speaking trumpet, and hats. Bill made to Lancaster, PA Fire company .On back is stamp "Approved by Fire Committee and signed by several memebers. Original fold lines, overall VG+ (Jb.505); $75.

View of the Police force, of note is the presence of a black officer.  Though not imprinted as such, this view was taken by Hart's Art Gallery, Elmira, NY( I earlier sold the companion image w/backmark) . Slightly irregularly trimmed along top, small loss of emulsion at bottem center, o/w Image exhibits good tonality and contrast. (Jb316.); $165.

jb523.jpg (570413 bytes)1908 HAMILTON OHIO POLICE DEPT BOOKLET. Soft cover booklet , 4 3/4" x 7" , 44pp (unpaginated). Scarce booklet listing all the patrolmen, detectives, drivers, etc , along with their portraits. Also included, opposite their portraits, is a good array of local businesses and their advertisements , of which most all illustrated. Some dampstaining on covers, with the first few pages exhibiting minimal discoloration. Overall VG condition. (Jb.323); $200.
