16” x 20”, ink on board, signed lower left. Greatly detailed illustration, ca. 1990.  Born in San Francisco, Al Martin Napoletano has lived and worked in the Bay area for most of his life. He worked as a machinist, but he also worked as an artist, who sold his first work in 1943. Specializing in the Old West, Napoletano has illustrated for magazines like True West, Frontier Times, Old West, Horse Tales, Badmen, Gold and Relics. For two years, he made the monthly strip 'Ranch Boys' in Western Horsemen. For the Bobwire Gazette, he created the strip 'Bobwire Jack'. Over the years, he has done several illustrated strips and illustrations for Western magazines and books.
