Lester Wallack, born in 1820, N.Y.,  died 1888 was born John Johnstone Wallack,  was an  actor playwright,  and manager of the Wallack Theatre Company, the training ground of virtually every important American stage performer of the 19th century. He was the son of the actor-manager James William Wallack.
