Ownership name on ffep J. Cottet 57 or 57 US Infy ( this possibly could be Jules Cottet, who served in the Civil war in the 57th US Infantry and was a Capt).Boards exhibit wear along extremities, top 2” of spine crown missing, along with bottom ¾” of heel of spine missing, front board weakened and partially detached. Title page has tip of b/l corner missing. Most plates are folded, and exhibit signs of wear, handling and non distracting foxing. Scarce title, despite some condition issues, overall a good copy.
